Description
“All in Good Time, Reflections of a Watchmakers” is an immersive autobiography by the most famous British watchmaker of the modern era. This is the 2018 version of the 2013 revised and expanded, posthumous version of George Daniels’s original autobiography. The book charts Daniels’s humble childhood, his introduction to watches, his fascination with the work of Abraham-Louis Breguet, and his path to becoming an independent watchmaker. A fascinating insight into day to day life in the Daniels workshop is provided by a final chapter written by George Daniels’s former apprentice, Roger Smith.
The book is richly illustrated. Five sections feature photography in colour and black and white. Illustrations include scenes and figures from throughout Daniels’s life. The breadth, range and quality of his own watches are also reproduced in detail. An afterword is written by David Newman, first Chairman of the George Daniels Educational Trust. Newman’s article includes a summary table listing the total number and types of watches and clocks made by George Daniels.
