The subtitle to this book reads “From Bombay with Love” and the food of Dishoom, the restaurants and this book, are also based on the food and culture of that city.
The book is set out almost as a walking tour of Bombay in one day with the relevant meals of the day; starting with breakfast and ending with tipples, preceded at the end by pudding and Third Dinner!
So en route there are recipes for Masala Chai, to be drunk mid morning maybe accompanied by a jeera biscuit; lunch might be salli boti, a lamb dish, with chana chaat salad. A paneer tikka chapati roll might feature as part of your third dinner and may be followed by gadbad mitha, an ice cream sundae. If the whole book doesn’t make you hungry and greedy then something is amiss.
