Wood and Sons Yuan Jug
This Yuan pattern was produced by Wood and Sons over a number of years with small changes and tweaks to the design over those years – different birds appear in different pieces. The first versions of the pattern were introduced in 1916, the company itself was founded in 1865. I think that this jug probably dates to the 1930s.
It is a generous size and would be a treat filled with custard . . . to accompany a gooseberry pie or crumble.
In good condition with no chips or cracks.
