Vintage Chamonix Horn Beaker
A piece of twentieth-century touristware from the French ski resort this beaker is probably made from the horn of the Alpine Ibex which can be found on the mountainsides around the resort.
The horn is smooth and glossy and shows good variegation of colour and pattern. There is one patch of slightly rougher horn just above the text which probably occurred when the beaker was being made. Otherwise in good condition, I have not tested it for water-tightness.
Diameter (at base): 4.1cm
