Description
Sylvac Ref. 3877 Vase – Pair
This pair of vases was made by Sylvac in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Their factory was in Longton, Stoke on Trent. This pair has the splatter form decoration that has obvious references to Jackson Pollock’s work as well as something of the brutalist architecture of the 60s.
The tone of the glaze softens the hard edge of the form and the texture acts a bit like the bark of a tree.
Both pieces in the pair are in good condition with no chips or cracks.
Measurements (each vase):
Height: 10.2cm
Width: 9.2cm
Depth (front to back): 4.6cm
