Large Wedgwood Moonstone Ribbed Vase
This ribbed vase was made at the Wedgwood factory in Barlaston in November in the 1960s. The Wedgwood marking system at this period comprised on 3 letter and number codes. The first number refers to the month (1 = January, 11 = November) the second identifier is a letter, in this case J, which denoted which individual marked the vase, and the last digits are the year. Unfortunately the mark on this vase has been indistinctly applied, so we only have the 6 from the 1960s to go by. The Wedgwood name is also embossed as well as the printed mark.
This creamy white glaze was called moonstone and its black counterpart was called ravenstone.
This vase has some patchy blooming marks to the inside of the vase but is otherwise in good condition with no chips or cracks. It is a very elegant shape.
