The Devonmoor Pottery was established in 1923 and continued operating until 1981. The early works produced by this pottery included Toby jugs and model cottages. This jug probably dates to the early 1950s when there were restrictions on access to coloured glazes and many potteries hands were forced and they had to make plainer pieces.
The form of this bulbous jug is pleasingly simple and the cream glaze has a slightly mottled finish to it.
There is a small firing crack underneath the handle but otherwise in good condition.
Diameter: 12.5cm approx. excluding handle
