Crown Ducal Vase with Foliate Decoration
The most famous pattern developed by Crown Ducal is their orange tree ware. A black and orange transfer pattern that they applied to various shaped china from 1925 onwards. This piece post dates the introduction of that pattern although this backstamp was introduced in 1921. My hunch is that this piece dates to the 1930s.
The more pared back decoration of this vase is more easy to accommodate in a contemporary setting. The moulded pattern is repeated twice across the body of the vase and appears to be an abstract interpretation of leaves, branches and fruit. The vase is glazed in a cream colour which has a hint of yellow to it.
In good condition with no chips or cracks.
