The City of New York – John Derian – 750 Piece Puzzle
John Derian is the master of modern decoupage. His New York store is a must-visit destination and is filled with the goods that his company makes that reference old illustrations but make them modern. His style owes something to Fornasetti but also to the Victorian pastime of scrap booking.
The publishing company Artisan have produced these jigsaws using the archive of images that he has.
This one of New York looks like it might be sufficiently challenging being an aerial view of Manhattan that are mainly a brick red colour. When I get to starting on it I think I might tackle the boundary of Manhattan island first of all before trying to locate Central Park and cracking on from there.
The 750 pieces come together to make a completed puzzle that measures 48cm x 67cm. There is also a mini poster that might help you reference the image that you are trying to create from the jigsaw.
