Description
Midwinter Robins Advent Calendar by Angela Harding
For the past few years acclaimed printmaker Angela Harding has been commissioned by Art Angels, the Norwich based print company, to design an advent calendar in her signature style.
This calendar for 2021 is titled Midwinter Robins. It features a bevy of those native birds set in a scene which incorporates a body of water and some hills. The wings of the advent calendar are folded in a concertina fashion and can be expanded in different directions – either straight ahead, or out to the sides – to give different aspects to the calendar. The foliage in the scene includes holly berries and leaves and also the seed heads of some teasels. There are a couple of figures in the mid-distance and a cottage.
There are 25 windows to the calendar which means that you also get to open one on Christmas Day, there is some debate as to whether this is the traditional number of windows and doors, the other camp in the argument believes there should be 24. What lies behind the apertures is, of course, a mystery, but they will definitely contain illustrations in Angela’s distinctive style.
We also have some of Angela’s previous advent calendars for sale.
The side wings of the calendar can be opened out and folded to allow the calendar to be free standing.
Each calendar comes with an accompanying envelope for ease of postage.
