Compton Verney Gift Wrap by Mark Hearld

This new gift wrap paper by Mark Hearld is double-sided, but unlike the other double-sided papers printed by Art Angels this one has the same colourway on both sides. This may make it seem like a pointless exercise but . . .  it does mean that when you have those awkward sections where you fold the paper to create a pointed section to tape down it doesn’t stand out if you have part of the underside of the paper showing.

Mark’s work encompasses printmaking, painting, collage and more. His work often includes birds, animals and flora and you can see his talents in this field put to use on a large scale in the wallpapers and fabrics that he has designed for St Judes.

This pattern was made for an exhbition at Compton Verney where Mark curated a display of their folk art collection. As part of the exhibition Mark designed a wallpaper which was printed by St Jude’s. This is that same pattern, just in a much reduced scale.

We stock more cards by Mark including notecards and 3D cards that can be folded out and used as decoration. Art Angels have also recently worked with him to come up with some hanging paper garlands which feature pigeons, bantams and flowers.
